What experience have you with the hive construction materials? I thought to use OSB board , but I have found that these materials have formaldehyde in their composition

Hi Ivan, We use plywoods that use Phenolic Resins, which have no more formaldehyde content than normal background levels in urban environments. You can use a marine-grade Baltic Birch, Okoume, SkyPly, Douglas Fir, and a host of others, depending on what part of the world you live in. Thanks for the question, Aaron

Hey Ivan, If you look at our "How to Make Yourself" section (http://docs.opensourcebeehives.net/docs/how-to-make-yourself) there is quite a bit of info on materials. Generally you should avoid OSB because of those chemicals--CARB Phase 2 standard ply is non-toxic so this is what we suggest.
